The CERM 7.30 version update is available for download. Get ready for a new set of breaking-changes, new developments and some precise software improvements to further refine your CERM MIS applications. More information will be published soon to the CERM online help, but here are the most important update highlights.

Introducing 16-Color Compatibility

In the latest update of CERM 7.30, we are excited to introduce a significant enhancement to our CERM MIS Software: compatibility with up to 16-color printing. The world of printing press technology is constantly evolving, and the newest presses are now equipped up to 14 printing units. To stay ahead of these advancements, we've upgraded our software to efficiently manage and control presses with up to 16 color units. This update ensures that our software remains at the forefront of technological progress, offering more versatility and specific color and print run definitions to our users.

Improved calculation for multi-layer labels

This update introduces an enhancement to the accuracy of calculations for multi-layer labels on a single material. Previously, the impact of overlays on the width of your substrate during the first print run of a multi-layer label was not accounted for in the second and third print runs. This often led to inaccuracies in costing estimates.

Now, with the new parameter "check multilayer” integrated into the label standard configurations of the Calculation Parameters module in your CERM MIS Software, the calculation process becomes more precise. This feature ensures that regardless of when slitting and overlay occur, the overlay can be factored into the calculation from the second run and onwards, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of your label production.

Better dating alignment between production jobs and sales orders

We have introduced a significant improvement in aligning and planning production dates with sales orders. This update features a new wizard named "modify delivery data for jobs," which allows users to update all shipment and production dates for one or multiple jobs simultaneously.

This new wizard can be accessed from within the jobs, scheduling, or sales order modules in our CERM MIS Software. It aligns changes across these modules, saving users the time of navigating through different sections of the software to keep everything updated. Beyond just synchronizing modules, this wizard smartly handles complex label jobs that require multiple printing runs. When you open a printing job, it automatically loads all connected jobs, ensuring comprehensive oversight and planning.

A key feature of this wizard is the "final production time" checkbox. When selected, the CERM MIS Software prioritizes the final production date, maintaining it even if the shipment date is altered in another module. If production is scheduled after the shipment date by mistake, a warning will pop up, allowing for quick correction and alignment of dates. This feature helps reduce minor errors that could have had significant impacts.

Please note: After upgrading to CERM 7.30, the "final production time" checkbox will be unticked by default for jobs that are already scheduled. It's important to remember to turn it back on to utilize this feature effectively.
