In high-pressure label and packaging environments, speed, flexibility, and control are key. That’s why more and more converters choose to produce their own materials. With the launch of CERM 7.33, you can now manage this process fully within your MIS through PYOM (Produce Your Own Material).
Why produce your own materials?
Producing materials in-house — such as slitting, laminating, or combining layers — offers major advantages:
More control over the build quality
Faster response times for last-minute orders
Less stock and waste, thanks to on-demand customization
Full flexibility for complex, high-end label products
Especially for markets like pharma or cosmetics, producing your own multilayer materials or specialty adhesives isn't a luxury — it's a necessity.
The 7.33 version update and maintaining your costs structure
Until now, CERM could only manage the production of final products. But starting from version 7.33, you can now also manage the production of materials — as a distinct, traceable step in your workflow. Here’s how it works:
You define the production flow that creates the material
A material production job is created based on this flow
That job is then scheduled and produced, just like any other job
The resulting material is booked into stock via SFDC, complete with its own SKU
This material is then used in your standard product jobs
*You can use multiple materials as input, and produce more than one output material per job.
Material jobs differ from standard jobs. There’s no direct customer margin — but that doesn’t mean costs disappear. CERM 7.33 ensures that all costs booked on a material production job are carried over to the resulting stock. This way, when you use that material later, your costing is 100% accurate. No guessing. No hidden surprises.
With PYOM in CERM 7.33, you take full control of your raw material preparation — and integrate it directly into your MIS.
