What you'll do

CERM is looking for a motivated and ambitious Network and Systems Engineer to join our customer-facing IT support team in Oostkamp, Belgium. In this hybrid role, you will provide first-line remote support to customers around the world while also contributing to project-based technical work, ensuring reliable IT systems and long-term customer satisfaction.

You will report to the Systems Engineering team leader and work within a small, experienced team of IT engineers.

Customer Support:

  • Provide first-line helpdesk support via our ticketing system.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot IT issues remotely.

  • Escalate unresolved problems to higher-level support when needed.

Project & technical work

  • Participate in IT implementation and infrastructure projects.

  • Assist customers during cloud migration processes.

  • Manage and maintain virtual server environments on customer IT platforms.

  • Install, configure and maintain our software using checklists and automation tools.

  • Collaborate with other departments to improve customer experience.

  • Provide regular status updates and documentation of activities.

General responsibilities

  • Take ownership of tasks and follow up proactively.

  • Maintain high standards in personal administration.

  • Participate in team meetings and knowledge sharing.

What makes you a great fit

  • You have at least a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in IT support.
  • You're team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • You enjoy analyzing and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • You're self-directed and proactive in your work.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English (French or another language is a plus).
  • You're eager to learn and work with new technologies.

Bonus points if you:

  • have experience with virtualization: ESXi, Hyper-V, Proxmox, Docker
  • have experience with cloud hosting & services: Azure, AWS
  • have experience with IaC & Automation: Ansible, Jenkins, Git, API
  • have experience with databases: SQL Server 20xx
  • have experience with Operating Systems such as Windows Server (RDS, PowerShell) or Linux: Debian, Rocky Linux, Bash scripting
  • have experience with networking: TCP/IP, VPN, NAT, Firewall, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN
  • have experience with email & productivity: Office365, SMTP
  • have experience with hardware: servers, printers, Wi-Fi scanners
