Networking and Security IT Specialist

As Internal IT Specialist, you are the go-to person for everything that keeps our own organization running: our server infrastructure, our network, our workplace IT and the devices and tools our 100+ colleagues in Belgium and abroad rely on every day. You work closely with the IT Manager, and you play an active role in keeping CERM secure. This is a role for someone who sees what needs to be done, takes initiative and doesn’t wait to be asked.

What you'll do

Infrastructure & Server Management

  • Manage, maintain and monitor our internal server network.

  • Take care of patching, updates, backups and restore procedures and tests, so systems stay stable, up to date and recoverable.

  • Manage our internal network: switches, firewall, Wi-Fi and VPN access.

  • Maintain user accounts, access rights and policies in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID.

  • Document infrastructure, configurations and procedures.

  • Collaborate with an MSP in general It support and implementation of best practices.

Workplace IT & User Support

  • Be the first point of contact for internal IT questions in the team.

  • Provide remote support to our international colleagues.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, meeting room AV equipment and connectivity issues.

Security

  • Support the information security initiatives taken as part of our our ISO 27001 implementation.

  • Set up and follow up on security measures such as MFA, endpoint protection, device management and access reviews.

  • Detect, report and help handle security incidents, and contribute to security awareness in the team.

What makes you a great fit

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, or equivalent through experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in system administration and IT support.
  • Solid hands-on knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and server virtualization.
  • Good understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN).
  • Experience with backup solutions, endpoint management and security best practices.
  • Experience with or affinity for scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
